The article presents the reasons for consulting the Council of Castile to the monarch on October 14, 1683. Being the manifestation of a moment in which relations between the crown and the court of justice were especially tense. One of the initial reasons was the remuneration received by the minister for the fulfillment of his office. In reality what was taking place was a dissociation between the sovereign and his Council, as a consequence of the gradual separation of those principles that identify them: justice and governance.
