Abstract

"Los mil y un Lopes de Diego" aborda la relación fructífera entre Lope de Vega y Gerardo Diego, destacando la admiración y fascinación que el autor del Veintisiete sintió por la obra de Lope, que se refleja tanto en su obra poética como en su prosa literaria. Seguramente Diego es el autor de la Edad de Plata en el que Lope está más presente, ejemplificando un modelo perfecto de conciliación de la tradición y la vanguardia, que convertía a Lope en un clásico vivo, de plena actualidad poética.

"The one thousand and one Lopes of Diego" presents the productive relationship between Lope de Vega and Gerardo Diego, emphasazing the admiration and fascination that Diego, an author that belongs to the Generation of 1927, felt for Lope’s work, and how this admiration is reflected in his poetry and literary prose. Diego is probably the author of the Edad de Plata (‘Silver Age’) who best reflects Lope, illustrating with examples a perfect model of conciliation between tradition and avant-garde, which turned Lope into a living classic, of full current poetic interest.
