José Luis Cano thought of literary criticism as a guide for the reader, an addition to literary history and an artistic creation. He considered the coherence of an ethical, a historical-literary and an artistic commitment based on Romanticism, on emphasizing the subject and on time as a component. Although José Luis Cano did not publish a theoretical work as such, he did reflect his ideas in his critical volumes, conditioned by post-war circumstances. |
