Reading Ana Lydia Vega´s “Encancaranublado” in the light of Jonathan Swift´s “Gulliver´s Travels” and Herman Melville´s “Moby Dick” and taking into account the degraded image of the Statue of Liberty showed in Vega´s tale, the reader will have the opportunity to reflect from a controverted personal perspective upon the migrations going from Latin-America to the United States to pursue happiness.
