This article studies the ephemeral constructions made with malleable materials and of scarce consistency, such as wood, carias, tow, fabrics, cardboard, papers, lime and plaster, in temporary buildings, created for public festivities and solemn celebrations of collective nature. These were raised with the intention of creating a colorful stage that lasted only the short time of the ceremonies for which they had been conceived. Of these ephemeral architectures of the Baroque (fronts and fictitious pavilions, sacred triumphal arches, arbors, fountains, "castles, mountains", altars, public theaters, etc.) we have proof by the written memory or the graphic images that are conserved. |
