Imagología: leyendo imágenes e imaginarios desde la Península Ibérica

Abstract

En el conjunto de los enfoques que pretenden leer la literatura evidenciando la construcción discursiva de la identidad, la Imagología aporta su especificidad al focalizar muy particularmente aquellas imágenes referidas a la identidad nacional, es decir, aquellas representaciones que pretenden aprehender y caracterizar al otro que procede de un espacio cultural diferente, buscando así un retrato del extranjero (y de lo extranjero en sentido extenso) que metonímicamente representa a un conjunto nacional.

In the set of approaches that pretend to read the literature evidencing the discursive construction of identity, Imagology provides its specificity by focusing very particularly those images referring to national identity, that is, those representations that seek to apprehend and characterize the other that comes of a different cultural space, thus seeking a portrait of the foreigner (and of the foreigner in an extensive sense) who metonymically represents a national group.
