This approach to the printed editions of Silvestre’s "Obras" (1582, 1592 and 1599) aims to fill a critical emptiness around the lyric of this singular author, representative agent of the poetical transition from the late sixteenth. Keeping in mind that they are the most complete collection from Silvestre’s works, the bibliographical enlargement and the assembly of some copies into a catalog allows specific analyses of his compositions attending to them from the perspective of textual transmission. This study also includes the examination of these copies and its owners. This overture will help us to outline the profile of the Silvestre’s reader and it will also highlight the interest in Gregorio Silvestre’s work, from the XVIth century until nowadays.
