Miajadas was a village in the jurisdiction of Medellin which belonged to the Cathedral of Plasencia since the late 13th century. By mid-14th century the arrival of people into the settlement gave rise to the building of a parish. At that time Miajadas was a dehesa where some tenants settled down. In the second half of the 15th century, in a context of high population growth, defended enclosures appeared in the common land close to the village (ejido) but at the same time, grazing common areas are kept and cereal agriculture is developed in council lands and dehesas taken on lease.
