Geografía, espacio y poder

Abstract

El entendimiento de la geografía como ciencia social, concepto acuñado ya en las primeras décadas del siglo XX pero cuyo contenido se ha perfilado recientemente, nos lleva a considerar “espacio geográfico”, resultado de múltiples conexiones, como algo pasivo, donde el grupo social actúa, modificando el orden previo a la instalación humana o el de anteriores sociedades, sin considerar si cada actuación del hombre sobre ese espacio condicionará la siguiente.

Understanding of geography as a social science, a concept already coined in the first decades of the 20th century but whose content has recently been outlined, leads us to consider "geographical space", the result of multiple connections, as something passive, where the social group acts, modifying the order prior to human installation or that of previous societies, without considering whether each man's action on that space will condition the next one.
