También se analiza cómo se construyó una nueva doctrina de defensa social a partir de la idea de la peligrosidad social de determinados individuos con comportamientos desviados o inadaptados socialmente In this article I attempt to analyse how, during the era of Spain’s Restoration, both Psychiatry and Criminology contributed to pathologize criminals as well as criminalize insanity. I assess the impact of the Theory of Degeneration and the Italian Criminal Anthropology on the Spanish scientists at the time. I analyse as well how a new doctrine for social defence was built on the idea of the social danger posed by specific socially-misfit individuals or those displaying a deviant behaviour |
