In spite of that has been affirmed up to now, and to diminish its importance, and to attribute to the Spanish Church the paternity of the concept and its doctrinal legitimation, Franco himself is the one who launches, at the early date of July 21, 1936, the sign of the Crusade. The "Proclaim to all Spaniards" who, from Ceuta, town located in Land of Infidels, lead by the brilliant Africanist general, constitutes an unmistakable crusade call. |
