La caracterización de al-Andalus en los textos geográficos árabes orientales (siglos IX-XV)

Abstract

Este artículo aborda la caracterización de la península de al-Andalus en los textos geográficos árabes orientales entre los siglos IX al XV. Sin pretender analizar de forma exhaustiva la información que dichos textos contienen, se ha tratado de singularizar las aportaciones originales de cada uno de los autores analizados y de estudiar la evolución de dicha literatura en relación con la caracterización del territorio andalusí.

This paper focuses on the characterization of the territory of Al-Andalus carried out by Arab geographers from the 9th to the 15th century. Without attempting to exhaustively analyse the information contained in their texts, I have drawn attention, nevertheless, to the original contributions made by each author and to the evolution of such literature with regard to the description of the aforementioned territory.
