Enseñar historia para legitimar a un régimen: Discursos históricos en los libros de texto de los primeros momentos del franquismo (1938-1953)

Abstract

Este trabajo es una aproximación al papel que tuvieron los discursos históricos en el Bachillerato como legitimadores del régimen franquista. Entre otras asignaturas, la Historia tiene la función primordial de transmitir e inculcar el sistema de valores imperantes en cada régimen político, al exponer una ideología que pretende construir un paradigma de futuro, legitimado a partir de un pasado que explique el presente que se vive. Estos valores se pusieron de manifiesto en los libros de texto y es hoy mediante ellos, entre otros cauces, como podemos conocer el discurso sobre el pasado que el franquismo difundía en la escuela y, desde ésta, al resto de la sociedad. Igualmente, se expone la importancia de la escuela como agente de socialización en los primeros años de vida de los individuos, momento en que se afianzan las orientaciones y pautas de conducta sociopolíticas básicas.

This paper is an approach to the role played by the speeches of History in high school as legitimators of the Franco regime. Among other subjects, History has the primary function of transmitting and instilling the value system prevailing in each political regime, by exposing an ideology that seeks to build a future paradigm, legitimized from a past that explains the present we live. These values were evident in textbooks and is now using them, among other ways, as we know the discourse about the past that Francoism spread at school and, from here, to the rest of society. It also introduces the importance of the school as an agent of socialization in the early years of life of individuals, when basic sociopolitical behavior patterns and guidelines are strengthened.
