Abstract

La parroquia de Ahigal es un notable edificio gótico-renacentista de nave única, dotado en el lateral de la Epístola de amplio pórtico soportado por cuatro columnas renacientes y con torre a poniente separada del cuerpo del templo. La esbelta cabecera, sin duda la parte más interesante de la fábrica, muestra estructura ochavada, fortalecida con seis robustos estribos en los ángulos; se cubre dicho ábside con hermosas bóvedas de crucería y su construcción, iniciada seguramente en el primer tercio del siglo XVI, se ultimaría ya avanzada la segunda mitad de la expresada centuria.

The parish of Ahigal is a notable Gothic-Renaissance building with a single nave, endowed on the side of the Epistle with a wide porch supported by four columns reborn and with a west tower separated from the body of the temple. the slender header, undoubtedly the most interesting part of the factory, shows an octagonal structure, strengthened with six robust stirrups at the angles; said apse is covered with beautiful ribbed vaults and its construction, probably begun in the first third of the 16th century, the second half of the expressed century.
