La bella durmiente: de Mallarmé a Cortázar

Abstract

El poema « Éventail pour Stéphane » de Julio Cortázar se escribe a partir de dos textos de Stéphane Mallarmé, que están insertos en la tradición del tratamiento de «las bellas durmientes» en la literatura. Los poemas que contienen la contemplación de la mujer dormida en la literatura de nuestro entorno tienen una estructura bastante estable compuesta por elementos vertebradores que están interrelacionados entre sí. Para mostrar el funcionamiento de la serie se analizan poemas de Mallarmé y de Cortázar, y se recurre a otros ejemplos ilustrativos, tanto de literatura francesa como hispánica.

The poem « Éventail pour Stéphane » by Julio Cortazar is based on two texts by Stéphane Mallarmé, which follow the tradition of the "sleeping beauties" topic in literature. The poems that contain the contemplation of sleeping women in western literature have rather a fixed structure composed by unifying elements which are interrelated. In order to show how this kind of texts function, poems by Mallarmé and Cortázar are analysed, together with other explanatory examples, both from French and Spanish literature.
