Realidad afectivo-sexual en adolescentes: análisis de género sobre prácticas sexuales tempranas

Abstract

La vida afectivo-sexual en la adolescencia está en constante evolución. En este sentido, hoy en día se continúa luchando por una educación sexual desde edades tempranas. Sin embargo, aunque los avances sean notables, esta educación sexual no es tan frecuente en las aulas ni de forma individualizada. Por este motivo, el estudio busca analizar diferentes variables de la conducta sexual de población adolescente, teniendo en cuenta diferencias de género. Para ello, 250 adolescentes (50% mujeres y 50% hombres), de entre 12 y 16 años, cumplimentaron una batería de preguntas online acerca de su historia afectivo-sexual. Entre los resultados, cabe destacar que el 66,4% de los hombres se habían masturbado en alguna ocasión, con edad de inicio a los 10-11 años (M = 10,22; DT = 4,54). Por otro lado, las mujeres habían llevado a cabo esta práctica en un 29%, con edad de inicio más frecuente a los 12-13 años (M = 12,69; DT = 3,11). El 35,2% de los hombres y el 37,1% de las mujeres habían tenido parejas sentimentales alguna vez, y el 36,4% y 47,8%, respectivamente, tienen en la actualidad. Respecto a las prácticas sexuales, el 21,6% de los hombres y el 21% de las mujeres han mantenido relaciones sexuales alguna vez. En conclusión, los resultados enfatizan la necesidad de abrir los ojos ante la realidad del inicio temprano de la actividad sexual, con el fin de promover la necesidad de una educación sexual temprana.

The affective-sexual life of adolescents is constantly evolving. In this sense, today we continue to fight for sexual education from an early age. However, although the advances are notable, this sexual education is not so frequent in the classroom or on an individual basis. For this reason, the study seeks to analyze different variables of sexual behavior in the adolescent population, taking into account gender differences. To this end, 250 adolescents (50% female and 50% male), aged between 12 and 16, completed a battery of online questions about their affective-sexual history. Among the results, 66.4% of the males had masturbated at some time, with age of onset at 10-11 years (M = 10.22, SD = 4.54). On the other hand, 29% of the females had engaged in this practice, with age of onset more frequent at 12-13 years (M = 12.69, SD = 3.11). 35.2% of men and 37.1% of women had ever had romantic partners, and 36.4% and 47.8%, respectively, currently have romantic partners. Regarding sexual practices, 21.6% of men and 21% of women have ever had sexual intercourse. In conclusion, the results emphasize the need to open our eyes to the reality of the early onset of sexual activity, in order to promote the need for early sexual education.
