Dos imágenes matrimoniales en el episodio de Dafne y Apolo (Ov.MET. I 452-567): "Sex crines" y las teas de la "Flamma amoris"

Abstract

El propósito de este trabajo es examinar la utilización literaria, en textos poéticos latinos y especialmente en Ovidio, de dos motivos pertenecientes al ceremonial del matrimonio romano: las antorchas nupciales y el peinado ritual de una novia romana. En una primera parte, discutiremos el funcionamiento poético de estos dos elementos en los textos. En la segunda parte, y a la luz de las constantes detectadas en los paralelos aducidos, nos proponemos contribuir a la interpretación retórica del episodio de Apolo y Dafne en Ovidio, Metamorfosis I 452-567.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the literary use in Latin poems and especially in Ovid, of two reasons belonging to the Roman ceremonial marriage, torches and bridal styling ritual. In the first part, we discuss the poetic function of these two elements in the texts. In the second part, and in light of the constant detected in the alleged parallel, we intend to contribute to the rhetorical interpretation of the episode of Apollo and Daphne in Ovid, Metamorphoses I 452-567.
