Un espacio (trans) fronterizo. El cambio de actitud

Abstract

Dentro del imaginario de una nación, del imaginario político y cultural existen las llamadas fronteras. En ocasiones, viene a ser una metáfora de la transgresión, pero las fronteras no siempre cumplen ese papel. La frontera del oeste Ibérico (Extremadura-Alentejo/Beira) bien podría ser el caso de una raya llena de convenios bilaterales, de trabajo en equipo y buenas relaciones. Un cambio surgido en las últimas décadas gracias al Estatuto de Autonomía de la región extremeña y del interés que los ciudadanos han demostrado por la cultura del otro.

To help explain the National, Political and Cultural Identity we often use the term “Boundaries”. Sometimes, this term becomes a metaphor for transgresstion, but the “boundaries” do not always fulfill that role. The West Iberian border, between Spain and Portugal, could well be the case of bilateral agreements, teamwork and good relationships. Recently, a change emerged thanks to the Statute of Autonomy. The citizens of this region full interest is became for each others culture not too much time ago.
