Las antiguas casas consistoriales de Cáceres y su desaparición

Abstract

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo arrojar luz sobre las desaparecidas Casas Consistoriales de Cáceres, situadas en el solar existente entre la Torre de la Yerba y la del Horno de su Plaza Mayor. Se analizará su proceso de decadencia a lo largo del ochocientos y las diferentes soluciones que fueron propuestas para su sustitución. En vista de la inexistencia de material gráfico, se plantea una hipótesis sobre la estructura y configuración que la olvidada fábrica pudo poseer.

The purpose of this article is to shed light on the lost town halls of Cáceres that were lo¬cated in a site between the Torre de la Yerba and the Torre del Horno in the Plaza Mayor (Main Square). In this document we will analyze their decadence through the XIX century and the different solutions that were proposed. Due to the lack of graphic documents, the structure and configuration of the building remains a hypothesis.
