Pitágoras en el país de los puzzles

Abstract

Existen múltiples maneras de demostrar el teorema de Pitágoras. Nosotros hemos elegido una que consiste en trocear en piezas de puzzles las figuras geométricas construidas sobre los catetos de un triángulo rectángulo, para después recubrir con estas piezas la figura construida sobre la hipotenusa. Creemos que es una forma motivante de trabajar esta demostración, que ayuda al alumno a desarrollar un comportamiento más inteligente que de tipo reflejo o automático.

There exist many ways of demonstrating Pythagorus' theorem. We have chosen one which consists of breaking up into jigsaw pieces the geometrical figures constructed on the adjacent sides of a right-angled triangle. Then the figure constructed on the hypotenuse is covered wthit these pieces. We believe that this is a motivating way to work on this demonstration, helping the pupil to develop a more intelligent rather than an automatic reflex type of behaviour.
