El culto a “Juppiter Repulsor” en la Península Ibérica, según sus inscripciones

Abstract

El hallazgo de una inscripción inédita dedicada a Juppiter Repulsor, en Alcántara (Cáceres), suscitó una cierta curiosidad por averiguar el significado e importancia de este dios dentro del contexto de la religiosidad romana en la Península Ibérica. De ahí que comenzásemos a cotejar tanto obras generales como particulares relacionadas directa o indirectamente con Juppiter y sus diferentes epítetos o advocaciones, que nos proporcionasen información acerca de esta divinidad concreta en la Península Ibérica o en otras partes del Imperio.

The finding of an inscription dedicated to Jupiter Repulsor unpublished, in Alcantara (Caceres), gave rise to a curiosity to find out the meaning and importance of this god within the context of the Roman religion in the Iberian Peninsula. That is why we began to collate both general and specific works related directly or indirectly to Jupiter and its different epithets or invocations, we provide information about specific of this divinity in the Iberian Peninsula, or in other parts of the Empire.
