Las transformaciones del paisaje agrario en la Extremadura de finales del Antiguo Régimen

Abstract

En la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII se pusieron en marcha diversas iniciativas legislativas, que culminaron en el Real Decreto de 1793, destinadas a aumentar la superficie cultivada y la producción, disminuir la abrumadora presencia de los pastizales y procurar el acceso a la propiedad a un numeroso colectivo social. Cercados y nuevos plantíos extendieron los usos privativos frente a los aprovechamientos colectivos. Cambios que contribuyeron a transformar el paisaje agrario extremeño. Del éxito de estas medidas y de las resistencias que su aplicación generó nos ocupamos en este trabajo.

In the second half of the eighteenth century various legislative initiatives, culminating in the Royal Decree of 1793, to increase the area under cultivation and production, decrease the overwhelming presence of grasslands and ensure access to property launched an large social group. Enclosures and new plantings spread the private uses versus collective uses. Changes that contributed to transform the agricultural landscape of Extremadura. The success of these measures and the resistance generated application we address in this work.
