Algunas monteas en la Torre del Ángel de la Catedral de Cuenca

Abstract

La Historia de la Arquitectura no puede entenderse en España sin el uso de monteas como sistema a través del cual los canteros aplicaban sus conocimientos geométricos para la correcta realización del despiece de la piedra. Algunos maestros plasmaron sus conocimientos geométricos en unos tratados a modo de manuales de taller, en los que los aprendices se servían de dibujos a través de los cuales podían entender los sistemas constructivos. Trataremos de acercarnos a estos sistemas geométricos mediante algunas monteas localizadas en la Torre del Ángel de la Catedral de Cuenca.

The History of Architecture can not be understood in Spain without the use of traces as a system through which the stonemasons applied their geometric knowledge for the correct realization of the stone cutting. Some construction masters shaped their geometric knowledge into treatises as workshop manuals, in which apprentices used drawings through which they could understand constructive systems. We will try to approach these geometric systems by means of some traces located in the Tower of the Angel of the Cathedral of Cuenca.
