Resumen: Human disturbance has been shown to provoke physiological and behavioral responses in birds, so nature-based tourism might reduce bird abundance and diversity. The negative consequences of human disturbance might be expected to be maximized during eventual massive events in highly protected areas such as national parks. In this study, the consequences for soundscapes of human presence and disturbance of thousands of visitors during an ornithological fair (massive event) on the bird community of the Monfragüe National Park (Spain) were analyzed. We found that the number and diversity of bird vocalizations did not decrease during the massive event. In contrast, the presence of people in the Monfragüe National Park was associated with an increase in the number and diversity of vocalizations. The effect of human presence on the number of calls and songs differed: the number of calls mainly increased during the massive event when people were present, while the number of songs increased when people were present, particularly during the measurement campaign without the massive event. La hipótesis del escudo humano, junto con otros factores conductuales y ambientales, podría explicar los resultados obtenidos.2024-01-01T00:00:00ZHigh oleic safflower biolubricant through double transesterification with methanol and pentaerythritol: Production, characterization, and antioxidant additionEncinar Martín, José MaríaNogales Delgado, SergioÁlvez Medina, Carmen Maríahttp://hdl.handle.net/10662/208142024-03-06T13:29:49Z2022-01-01T00:00:00ZTítulos: High oleic safflower biolubricant through double transesterification with methanol and pentaerythritol: Production, characterization, and antioxidant addition

and biolubricant production, with the possible implementation of biorefineries to replace refineries
based on petroleum. The oxidative stability of the original sample will influence the quality of the
intermediate and final products, recommending highly stable raw materials or the use of antioxidants
to keep quality parameters during storage. The aim of this work was to obtain a stable biolubricant,
assessing its production through a double transesterification with methanol and
pentaerythritol from high-oleic safflower oil and adding antioxidants, paying attention to quality
parameters. Consequently, a biorefinery that produced high-quality products was proposed. In conclusion,
high biodiesel and biolubricant yields were obtained (>97 and >94%, respectively) with
the following chemical conditions for the latter: FAME/alcohol ratio, 1:0.33; pressure, 260 mmHg;
catalyst concentration, 1.0%; temperature, 160 ºC. The oxidative stability of biodiesel complied
with the standard (10.78 h) due to its high methyl oleate content (exceeding 80%), whereas this
parameter was shorter for the biolubricant (2.86 h), possibly due to its molecular structure. Consequently,
antioxidant addition was needed, and tert-Butylhydroquinone at low concentration
(500 ppm) kept viscosity and acid number of high-oleic safflower biolubricant during oxidation conditions
(up to 8 h). However, tannic acid did not keep these properties in biolubricant. In conclusion,
by using the right antioxidant, all the products of the proposed biorefinery were stable during
oxidizing conditions, making this biorefinery more competitive.2022-01-01T00:00:00ZA Review on biolubricants based on vegetable oils through transesterification and the role of catalysts: current status and future trendsNogales Delgado, SergioEncinar Martín, José MaríaGonzález González, Juan Félixhttp://hdl.handle.net/10662/207562024-02-27T12:26:27Z2023-01-01T00:00:00ZTítulos: A Review on biolubricants based on vegetable oils through transesterification and the role of catalysts: current status and future trends

as an important technology with continuous development and improvement in order to stand for
sustainable and clean energy. Regarding biogas, which can be obtained from multiple sources,
hydrogen production through the steam reforming of methane is one of the most important methods
for its energy use. In that sense, the role of catalysts to make the process more efficient is crucial,
normally contributing to a higher hydrogen yield under milder reaction conditions in the final
product. The aim of this review is to cover the main points related to these catalysts, as every aspect
counts and has an influence on the use of these catalysts during this specific process (from the
feedstocks used for biogas production or the biodigestion process to the purification of the hydrogen
produced). Thus, a thorough review of hydrogen production through biogas steam reforming was
carried out, with a special emphasis on the influence of different variables on its catalytic performance.
Also, the most common catalysts used in this process, as well as the main deactivation mechanisms
and their possible solutions are included, supported by the most recent studies about these subjects.2023-01-01T00:00:00Z
