Fialho de Almeida, un gran conocedor de la cultura española

Abstract

El escritor alentejano José Valentim Fialho de Almeida (1857-1911) fue un activo periodista, enorme cuentista y gran polemista, que mostró gran generosidad a la hora de dictar sus últimas disposiciones testamentarias, algunas de las cuales guardan relación con el destino que deberían tener los libros, en varios idiomas, portugués, castellano y francés, mayormente, y de variada temática que formaban parte de su biblioteca. Este trabajo se centrará en una mínima parte de ellos, los publicados bajo el sello del editor español Gregorio Pueyo, y en los posibles motivos y circunstancias que llevaron a su adquisición.

The Alentejo writer Jose Valentim Fialho de Almeida (1857-1911) was an active journalist, huge storyteller and great debater, who showed great generosity when it comes to dictate his last testamentary provisions, some of which are associated with the destination that should keep the books in several languages, Portuguese, Spanish and French, mostly, and varied themed forming part of your library. This work will focus on a small part of them, those published under the seal of the Spanish editor Gregorio Pueyo, and the possible reasons and circumstances that led to its acquisition.
