Fiabilidad test-retest de dos pruebas de movilidad en cuidadoras informales

Abstract

OBJETIVOS: evaluar la fiabilidad del Timed Up & Go Test (TUG) y Functional Reach Test (FRT) en cuidadoras informales mediante test-retest en un periodo de 12 semanas. Participaron 17 cuidadoras informales de pacientes con demencia.

MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: se evaluó la fiabilidad relativa mediante el cálculo del Coeficiente de Correlación Intraclase (CCI3,1) con un 95% de IC. La fiabilidad absoluta mediante el cálculo del Error Estándar de Medida (SEM) y el Mínimo Cambio Real (SRD).

RESULTADOS: el CCI fue de 0,93 para el TUG y de 0,88 para el FRT. El SEM fue de 1,07s para el TUG y de 2,30 cm para el FRT. El SRD fue de 2,96s para el TUG y de 6,37cm para el FRT.

DISCUSIÓN: es el primer estudio que analiza la fiabilidad de dos pruebas para valorar algunos de los componentes de la capacidad funcional (equilibrio y movilidad) en cuidadores de pacientes con demencia. Ambas. En ambos test se obtienen puntuaciones similares en el SRD e ICC respecto a estudios previos con otras poblaciones.

CONCLUSIONES: El Functional Reach Test y el Time Up & Go Test son pruebas fiables para la evaluación del nivel de movilidad en cuidadoras informales, pudiendo ser útil para determinar la eficacia de intervenciones para mejorar los niveles de movilidad.

BACKGROUND: the aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability of the Timed Up & Go Test (TUG) and Functional Reach Test (FRT) in informal care by test-retest over a period of 12 weeks. 17 informal caregivers of patients with dementia were involved.

RESULTS: the ICC was 0.93 for the TUG and 0.88 for the FRT. The SEM was 1.07 s for the TUG and 2.30 cm for the FRT. The SRD was 2.96 s for the TUG and 6.37 cm for the FRT.

DISCUSSION: this is the first study evaluates reliability of two tests that assess some of the factors about functional capacity (balance and mobility) in caregiver of patients with dementia. Both test showed similar rates in SRD and ICC to previous studies with different populations.

CONCLUSIONS: Functional Reach Test and the Time Up & Go Test are reliable for assessing the level of mobility in informal care and may be useful in determining the effectiveness of interventions to improve levels of mobility.
