Restos de una necrópolis orientalizante en la desembocadura del río Aljucén (Mérida, Badajoz)

Abstract

Se presentan los resultados obtenidos en una excavación de urgencia realizada en una necrópolis orientalizante junto a la desembocadura del Aljucén. Se recuperaron siete conjuntos funerarios que confirman la asimilación y reinterpretación de las influencias mediterráneo-orientales, llegadas a Extremadura a través de Andalucía Occidental. Se fecha a finales del siglo VII a. C. o principios del siglo VI a. C

Here are presented the results obtained in a little urgent excavation carried out in an Orientalist necropolis appeared by chance at Ajucen river's moulb. The seven fu nera ry sets that were recovered confirm the assimilation and reinterpretation of Mediterranean-Oriental infuences arrived at Extremadura trough Western Andalucia. The cronology dates approximately from end of the seventh century B. C. at the beginning ofthe sixth centwy B. C.
