Alcance de la Economía Social y Solidaria en el espacio eurolatinoamericano. Análisis de la experiencia cooperativa en Mondragón (España), Francia y Ecuador

Abstract

El objetivo de la tesis es analizar el impacto de la Economía Social y Solidaria (ESS) en Europa y América Latina, partiendo de la base de experiencias y prácticas cooperativas en España, Francia y Ecuador. En Europa la ESS ha tenido importantes avances a nivel social y económico, sin embargo, no a nivel legislativo. En América Latina también se observan experiencias y prácticas de ESS importantes (México, Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay y Ecuador) con una incidencia relevante en el desarrollo local. En este contexto esta tesis doctoral revisa las distintas corrientes de pensamiento sobre la ESS, así como las experiencias cooperativas españolas, francesas y ecuatorianas. Después se realiza una investigación de campo sobre un grupo empresarial de cooperativas ecuatorianas que se estructuró en tres fases: diagnóstico, diseño del estudio y análisis de los resultados. La población y muestra del estudio se refieren al año 2017 y correspondiente al Grupo Salinas de Ecuador. La muestra obtenida estuvo representada por integrantes profesionales, comunidad, cooperativas y trabajadores. Para su análisis se elaboró un instrumento para realizar diagnósticos efectivos a las comunidades. La recolección de la información se realizó a través de encuestas y entrevista estructurada llevada a cabo bajo conversaciones con la comunidad encuestada. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que se ha producido un crecimiento acelerado del movimiento cooperativo en el país, al cual los entes y organismos públicos encargados no han sido capaces de responder con efectividad.

The objective of the thesis is the analysis of the impact of the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) in Europe and Latin America, starting from the base of cooperative experiences and practices in Spain, France and Ecuador. In Europe, the SSE network has made important progress at the social and economic level, however, not at the legislative level. In Latin America there are also important SSE experiences and practices (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Ecuador) with a relevant impact on local development. In this context, this doctoral thesis reviews the different currents of thought about SSE, as well as the Spanish, French and Ecuadorian cooperative experiences. Then a field investigation is carried out on a business group of Ecuadorian cooperatives that was structured in three phases: diagnosis, study design and analysis of the results. The population and sample of the study refer to the year 2017 and corresponding to the Salinas Group of Ecuador. The sample obtained was represented by professional members, the community, cooperatives and workers. For its analysis, an instrument was developed for the effective diagnosis of the communities. Information was collected through surveys and structured interviews based on conversations with the surveyed community. The results obtained show that there has been an accelerated growth of the cooperative movement in the country, to which the entities and public agencies in charge have not been able to respond effectively.
