Abstract

Un trabajo de investigación sobre estrés y burnout en el profesorado universitario. En el artículo que se presenta ofrecemos un resumen de la tesis doctoral titulada "Burnout" o desgaste psíquico y afrontamiento del estrés en el profesorado universitario. Fue galardonada con el Primer Premio Nacional de tesis doctorales convocados por el MECD-CIDE en el año 1999. El trabajo se estructura en los siguientes capítulos: justificación, marco teórico, material y método, análisis de resultados, discusión, conclusiones y propuesta de intervención. En este artículo describimos someramente los instrumentos empleados, la muestra, los análisis estadísticos que se efectuaron y la propuesta de intervención, y nos detenemos más en las conclusiones que hemos podido extraer.

This paper we offer a summary ofthe doctoral thesis entitled: "Burnout" or psychological wear and tear, and how university teaching staff cope with stress. lt won the first prize ofthe MECD-CJDE National Awardfor doctoral theses in 1999. The work is structured into the following chapters: Justification, Theoretical Framework, Material and Method, Analysis of Results, Discussion, Conclusions, and Proposalsfor lntervention. We here describe briefly the instruments used, the sample, the statistical analyses, and the intervention proposal, and, in greater detail, the conclusions that are to be drawn.
