Abstract

En este trabajo se revisa el paradigma de las conjunciones consecutivas y se justifica la exclusión de conjunciones como así y entonces basándose en su diferente funcionamiento. Por otra parte, se demuestra que, aunque muchos de los tipos de conexiones semánticas expresadas por las conjunciones consecutivas vienen dadas por el contexto, no se puede obviar la existencia de un significado independiente. Este debe ser considerado como un significado de procesamiento e incluye algunas instrucciones sobre la estructura de la información, y otras para la argumentación y el procesamiento de la información. Por último, se contrasta el uso de estas conjunciones en los textos escritos, con su uso en los textos orales.

This paper reviews the paradigm of consecutive conjuncts and justifies the exclusion of conjuncts such as así and entonces based on their different functioning. On the other hand, it is shown that, even though many of the types of semantic connections expressed by consecutive conjuncts are given by the context, the existence of an independent meaning cannot be overlooked. This must be considered as a processing meaning and it ineludes some instructions about the information structure, and others for both argumentation and the processing of information. Finally, the use of such conjuncts in written texts is contrasted with their use in oral ones.
