En torno al romanticismo político. Breves reflexiones sobre Francisco Rodríguez Zapata

Abstract

Por múltiples motivos, el romanticismo pesaría profundamente en la orientación de numerosos intelectuales y políticos españoles de buena parte del siglo XIX. El hombre romántico, dotado de una gran sensibilidad social y de un espíritu abierto y generoso, no podía permanecer impasible ante las realidades injustas, ante el inmovilismo negativo y ante la inoperancia perjudicial. Uno de estos intelectuales fue el ilustre sevillano Francisco Rodríguez Zapata, sobre cuya figura se reflexiona en estas líneas.

For many reasons, romanticism would weigh deeply in the orientation of many Spanish intellectuals and politicians of much of the nineteenth century. The romantic man, endowed with a great social sensitivity and an open and generous spirit, could not remain impassive in the face of unjust realities, negative immobility and harmful inoperativeness. One of these intellectuals was the illustrious Sevillian Francisco Rodríguez Zapata, on whose figure we reflect in these lines.
