Archivo capitular de Badajoz: Clasificación y descipción de su fondo documental

Abstract

La tesis doctoral que presentamos se marca cinco objetivos específicos: analizar la historia del archivo capitular de Badajoz, analizar institucionalmente el organigrama del archivo capitular de Badajoz, elaborar el cuadro de clasificación del archivo capitular de Badajoz, describir las secciones, subsecciones y series documentales establecidas en el cuadro de clasificación, y analizar los contenidos históricos susceptibles de ser estudiados a partir del fondo documental del archivo capitular de Badajoz. Para alcanzar estos objetivos, se ha empleado una metodología triple basada, en primer lugar, en el uso de las técnicas archivísticas, mediante las cuales hemos realizado el análisis exhaustivo de la documentación del fondo, así como de las instituciones productoras de la documentación. En segundo lugar, hemos empleado el análisis histórico para entresacar los contenidos históricos naturales, específicos y transversales que pueden constituir investigaciones futuras. En tercer y último lugar, hemos empleado el uso de los lenguajes documentales para identificar y seleccionar términos de indización válidos para la representación del contenido documental. Fruto de esta metodología ofrecemos un triple resultado: en primer lugar, un cuadro de clasificación documental para el archivo capitular de Badajoz; en segundo lugar, la descripción de todos los niveles incluidos en ese cuadro, junto con el inventario documental del mismo; y, en tercer lugar, una muestra de contenidos susceptibles de ser estudiados a partir de la documentación del fondo.

The doctoral thesis that we present has five specific objectives: to analyze the history of the chapter archive of Badajoz, to institutionally analyze the organization chart of the chapter archive of Badajoz, to elaborate the classification chart of the chapter archive of Badajoz, to describe the sections, subsections and documentary series established in the classification table, and analyze the historical contents that can be studied from the documentary collection of the chapter archive of Badajoz. To achieve these objectives, a triple methodology has been used based, firstly, on the use of archival techniques, through which we have carried out an exhaustive analysis of the documentation in the collection, as well as the institutions that produce the documentation. Secondly, we have used the historical analysis to select the natural, specific and transversal historical contents that can constitute future investigations. Third and last, we have used the use of documentary languages to identify and select valid indexing terms for the representation of documentary content. As a result of this methodology, we offer a triple result: firstly, a documentary classification chart for the chapter archive of Badajoz; secondly, the description of all the levels included in that table, together with the documentary inventory of the same; and, thirdly, a sample of contents likely to be studied based on the collection's documentation.
