The history of Occitan, of its uses, its representations and its glottopolitical statutes, cannot be reduced simply to the story of a long process of substitution. It is true that normalization could not be carried out, despite an incontestable resilience, but nevertheless the death of this language announced for a long time, still does not occur: we Will give proof of this in this intervention. The different Acts of this announced death end with an unknown: what does the symptom of the return of the loyalty of certain Occitans in the twenty-first century reveal? The results of a recent sociolinguistic survey will allow us to give elements of answer to this question. |
