This study is present with the aim to clarify the current scientific view of ADHD and psychoeducational approach to the field. Pretending to know the evolution of the concept and consider ADHD as a construct alive, evolving and recycles as to its definition and characteristics, and is relevant to the investigation which is developed from the educational field. An analysis of the beginnings and history of the disorder briefly approached from a psychoeducational perspective, showing how the history of their conceptualization is closely linked to educational achievement and learning disabilities. Secondly, there will be an overview on the most current explanatory models and more school applicability with respect to ADHD, culminating with one of the most empirically verified (behavioral inhibition model`s Barkley). Involving also the most current being developed, along with awareness and knowledge of ADHD, anticipating a subsequent reconceptualization of disorder, which we believe may be close in time. The findings indicate that the process of change is coming in the conceptualization and understanding of ADHD. The theoretical advance, but maybe not too much empirical and experimental evidence. |
