"Sombra del paraíso", de V. Aleixandre, a la luz de la Biblia, Milton y Blake

Abstract

Desde el mismo título del libro, Vicente Aleixandre muestra la Biblia como una de sus fuentes. Sin embargo, la lectura de "Sombra del Paraíso", revela que también hay algunos ecos interesantes que merecen un análisis serio. Y éste es el objetivo de este ensayo a pesar de que debe ser entendido como una introducción a leer la poesía de Aleixandre a la luz de dos escritores ingleses muy representativas, Milton y Blake. Los límites de este tipo de trabajo dificultan un estudio más profundo, pero a lo largo de las páginas que siguen se demostrará la existencia de paralelismos formales, sorprendentes e incluso evidentes, junto con las diferencias obvias, que son tan importantes como las similitudes en los estudios comparativos. Como un todo, por tanto, este ensayo debe ser tomado como una primera aproximación a esta interesante área de trabajo.

From the title of his book, Vicente Meixandre reveals the existence of the Bible as one of his sources. However, the reading of “Sombra del Paraíso” reveals that there are also some interesting echoes that deserve serious analysis. And this is the aim of this paper although it must be understood as a mere introduction to Aleixandre's poetry read through the light of two very representative English writers, Milton and Blake. The limits of this kind of work hinders deeper study, but throughout the following pages I shall try to demonstrate that there are striking parallelisms and even evidence of formal similarities, together with obvious differences, which are as important as similarities in comparative studies. As a whole, therefore, it should be taken as a first approach to this interesting area of work.
