The present author aims to show that Aesop’s fables, together with the Bible prophets, were used to criticise the priests’ vices throughout the Middle Ages. The twelfth-century author Odo of Cheriton is taken as a basis for this study, and the thorough analysis of his work proves the main hypothesis. |
