This article shows how the elderly in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura are perceived. We started with a questionnaire constructed from the adjectives initially narrated by the elderly and through a factor analysis we obtained the main components and subcomponents of the perception of the elderly. From the analyses carried out we can conclude that from the factorial structure of the elderly, a stereotypical structure composed of three factors is discovered; a factor we call “negative self-stereotypes”, a second factor or “positive self-stereotype” and finally, the third factor the “social self-stereotype”. |
