El profesor y el sentimiento de autoeficacia en el ámbito de las competencias del autoconocimiento personal

Abstract

Esta comunicación hace una revisión del estado de la cuestión con respecto al sentimiento de autoeficacia del profesor, a la luz del modelo de Tschannen-Moran, Woolfolk-Hoy y Hoy (1998). Para ello se hace un breve recorrido histórico sobre esta cuestión, se revisa la conceptualización y los condicionantes del sentimiento de autoeficacia, se describen las consecuencias del mismo, tanto para el docente como para el discente, y se mostrarán intervenciones para mejorarlo. El escaso margen de éxito que han tenido muchas de estas actuaciones, han añadido más intentos por parte de expertos para mejorarlas, teniendo en cuenta que es imprescindible contar siempre con el apoyo del mayor interesado, el profesor.

This study will revise the state of the question that arises from the sense of self-efficacy among teachers, in light of the model by Tschannen-Moran, Woolfolk-Hoy y Hoy (1998). To achieve this goal, we first briefly review the history of this question, and then revise its conceptualization and those factors which condition sense of self-efficacy. We then describe its consequences, not only for the teacher but also for the student. Finally, we show interventions to improve it. Due to the slim margin of success that many of these interventions have had, there has been a greater impulse among experts to improve them; with this objective in mind, we must also take into account the indispensable need for the support of the teacher throughout any investigation of this sort.
