Un tratado pedagógico en los albores del siglo XVI. El "Libro de doctrina christiana", de Gutierre González

Abstract

Gutierre González, clérigo giennense, afincado en Roma, redactó, en los años veinte del siglo XVI, el llamado Libro de doctrina christiana, con el fin de que fuera utilizado en unas escuelas que, bajo su mecenazgo, se erigieron anexas a la iglesia de san Andrés, de Jaén. El tratado, del que hasta el momento no se ha realizado un estudio en profundidad, nos muestra una gran influencia de la realidad de la Roma renacentista, presentando numerosos elementos comunes con humanistas y escritores utópicos de esta centuria, cuestiones que pretendemos abordar en el presente artículo.

Gutierre González, a priest from Jaén, who lived in Rome, wrote, in the twenties of the sixteenth century, the book entiled Libro de doctrina cristiana, in orther to use it at the scjhool which, thanks fopr his patronage, was founded next to Saint Andrew´s church in Jaén. The teatrise, about that iit has not realized a detailed study yet, shows us great influence of the reality of the Renaissance Rome, showing many commons elements to humanism and Utopian writers of this century, matters we try to analyse in this article.
