Gata Borralheira e Cinderela em texto dramático: contributos para uma história da censura do teatro infantil em Portugal

Abstract

Pretende-se, com este estudo, analisar um conjunto de textos dramáticos que recriam a história da Gata Borralheira/Cinderela e que foram submetidos à apreciação da Censura em Portugal durante das décadas de 50 e 60 do século XX, durante a vigência do Estado Novo, apresentando a avaliação que tiveram. O texto incide sobre a análise dos textos, tendo em conta a adaptação textual a que submeteram o intertexto, e sobre a intervenção ou não da Censura, com vista a perceber o relevo do tratamento de temas e motivos próximos ou divergentes dos do regime vigente. Os nove textos analisados ilustram ainda diferentes tipos de representação teatral, com distintos públicos e propósitos, o que tem implicações textuais, sobre as quais também se reflete, dando novos contributos para o enriquecimento da história do teatro infantil em Portugal.

The aim of this study is to analyse a corpus of theatre texts that revisit and recreate the Cinderella story and which were submitted to Censorship in Portugal throughout the 1950s and 1960s, during the Estado Novo [Dictatorial Regime], while also presenting their evaluation. This paper focuses on the analysis of the texts, especially in terms of the exercise of textual adaptation of the literary matrix as well as the censorship intervention or not, in order to identify the literary themes and motives that are promoted or censored by the political regime. The nine analysed texts also illustrate different types of theatrical performances, with different audiences and purposes, with textual and literary consequences on the texts as well, an aspect that the paper also addresses, contributing to the enrichment of the history of children's theater in Portugal.
