| Abstract: | El brocense es un humanista pleno, pues defiende el racionalismo a ultranza por medio de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de las artes liberales y sobre todo de las ciencias sermocinales (gramática, retórica y dialéctica). para ello, se sirve de dos argumentos básicos: la negación del principio de autoridad como norma disciplinar y la sustitución de la consuetudo por la ratio en el proceso docente. El Brocense is a complete humanist, as he staunchly defends rationalism through the teaching and learning of the liberal arts and especially the sermocinal sciences (grammar, rhetoric, and dialectics). To achieve this, he uses two basic arguments: the rejection of the principle of authority as a disciplinary norm and the substitution of custom with reason in the teaching process. |
