Diario íntimo de guerra. Memorias de Henry Charbonnier

Abstract

En 1944, durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, D. Henry Charbonnier, fiscal de 37años, está destinado en Rouen. Su instalación en la capital de Alta Normandía tiene lugar cuando en esta bella ciudad con edificios góticos y un barrio antiguo de auténtico sabor medieval, ya medio en ruinas desde 1942, empiezan los bombardeos que terminarán de destruirla. La serie de días trágicos desde el martes 30 de mayo hasta el domingo 4 de junio incluido recibió el nombre de "Semana roja"; esos días y todos los del verano de 1944 son lo que describe el Sr. Charbonnier en una libreta en la cual apunta, noche trasnoche, los acontecimientos de la jornada así como los sentimientos que se apoderan de él en esta ciudad desfigurada. Presentamos aquí estas notas que hemos traducido en castellano.

In 1944, during the Second World War, D. Henry Charbonnier, district attorney of 37years, is assigned to Rouen. Its installation in the capital of Upper Normandy takes place when in this beautiful city with gothic buildings and an old quarter of authentic medieval flavor, already half in ruins since 1942, starting the bombing which will destroy it. The number of tragic days from Tuesday May 30 to Sunday June 4 included received the name of "Red Week"; these days and all of the summer of 1944 are what describes Mr. Charbonnier in a notebook in which points, night to night, the events of the day as well as the feelings that overtake him in this disfigured city. We present here these notes that we have translated in Spanish.
