La rosa de los vientos en la poesía española de los años 20

Abstract

La rosa de los vientos es un motivo tradicional en la literatura de viajes y específicamente en la literatura marinera; pero en la poesía vanguardista de los años veinte tiene un especial significado, pues será símbolo que marque el rumbo de la modernidad poética. Ello se deberá al auge de los medios técnicos y de comunicación donde los nuevos creadores viven el contexto sociocultural dominado por el progreso técnico, el cada vez más extendido desarrollo industrial, y el interés por las conquistas geográficas y aeronáuticas. La rosa de los vientos será también motivo frecuente en su iconología.

The wind rose is a traditional reason in travel literature and specifically in the literature of the sea; but in the poetic avant-garde of 1920s has a special meaning, for it will be the symbol that mark the course of the poetic modernity. This will be due to the rise of the technical means and communication where the new creators leave the sociocultural context dominated by the technical progress, the increasingly widespread industrial development, and the interest in the geographical and aeronautical conquests. The wind rose will also be a frequent motive in its iconology.
