He aim of this study was to determine the effect of the use of plantar orthoses customized runners on maximal aerobic power and energy efficiency at different intensities of effort. 32 amateur runners pronator foot participated in this study. The experimental protocol was developed both tests for 3 weeks, in which, in the first of these 3 measurements carried out with and without plantar orthoses, the second corresponded to accommodating plantar orthoses by the subject and Last week they returned to repeat the 3 measurements with and without plantar orthotics. Laboratory tests carried out both without and with plantar orthotics were: maximum incremental test, steady state test 60% and 80% of maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max). Field testing, also without and with orthotics were the Cooper test, test and two steady-state rate at near aerobic and anaerobic threshold The results of this study showed that, under laboratory conditions, the use of plantar orthoses runners pronator feet had beneficial effects on running economy because energy efficiency in stable intensities of effort was observed improved in all subjects that formed the sample. All subjects decreased oxygen consumption tests stable in intensity. These data were endorsed in field tests.
