De Romilly "vs". Kagan: dos "Tucídides" frente a frente

Abstract

El objetivo del presente trabajo es ofrecer un análisis comparado de dos importantes monografías sobre la obra de Tucídides que han aparecido recientemente traducidas en el mercado editorial español. El estudio de sus principios metodológicos se convierte así en una ocasión perfecta para reflexionar sobre los enfoques y perspectivas de la crítica contemporánea con respecto a la historiografía antigua en general y en relación a Tucídides en particular.

The aim of the present study is to provide a comparative analysis of two essential books on the work of Thucydides that have recently translated into the Spanish and are now available in the Spanish-speaking editorial market. The study of the methodological principles becomes thus a perfect occasion to reflect on approaches and perspectives of contemporary criticism about ancient historiography in general and in relation to Thucydides in particular.
