El conflicto palestino-israelí en el género documental cinematográfico (1990-2015)

Abstract

El conflicto palestino-israelí es ampliamente conocido. Sin embargo, poco se sabe de su relación con el género documental cinematográfico. Es por ello que el presente Trabajo Fin de Grado tiene como propósito explorar este vínculo entre los años 1990 y 2015. Para cumplir con dicho objetivo, en primer lugar, se hace un breve repaso a la historia del propio conflicto; y una aproximación teórica al género documental. Posteriormente, para conocer la conexión existente entre ambos elementos, se plantea un análisis filmográfico que consta de dos apartados. Uno destinado a averiguar el número de documentales por año y número total de obras producidas en el periodo seleccionado (análisis cuantitativo); y, otro dedicado a averiguar los temas y perspectivas abordadas (análisis cualitativo). Los resultados desgranan que se han producido un total de 104 obras, siendo el periodo de menor producción el comprendido entre los años 1990 y 2000; y el de mayor aquel que se extiende desde 2009 hasta 2012. Por su parte, 2006 figura como el año que mayor número de documentales se han estrenado. Asimismo se ha constatado que la mayoría de las obras ponen su punto de atención sobre la vida y/o consecuencias que han dejado los enfrentamientos en el lado palestino.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is widely known. However, its relation with the documentary film genre is little known. For this reason the present paper has the purpose of exploring this conecction during the period between the years 1990 and 2015. In order to accomplish that aim, firstly, the history of the mentioned conflict will be briefly summarised; and a theoretical approach to the documentary genre will be developed. Subsequently, a film analysis consisting of two sections is proposed in a way to understand the connection between those elements. One is destined to discover the number of documentaries per year and the total number of works produced during the mentioned period of time (quantitative analysis); and, the other is destined to find the different themes and perspectives that are presented (qualitative analysis). The results show that a total of 104 works were produced, being the term between 1990 and 2000 the one with less production; and the term between 2009 and 2012 the one with more. For its part, 2006 appears as the year with the highest number of documentaries released. Additionally, it is confirmed that the majority of works pay attention to life and/or the consequences left by confrontations on the Palestinian side.
