Expectativas de estudiantes de Educación Superior según nacionalidad y género

Abstract

El presente estudio pretende mostrar los efectos de la nacionalidad y del género de los estudiantes sobre las expectativas universitarias en su primer año de Enseñanza Superior (ES). La muestra está compuesta por 759 estudiantes de diversas titulaciones académicas de las Universidades de Vigo-Campus de Ourense (España) y de la Universidad de Minho, Braga (Portugal). A los participantes se les aplicó el Cuestionario de Percepciones Académicas (CPA) que evalúa siete dimensiones de expectativas. Los resultados obtenidos, a partir del análisis multivariante 2x2 [nacionalidad (2; española, portuguesa) x género (2; mujeres y hombres)], muestran un efecto interactivo significativo de ambas variables. Los resultados se interpretan en el sentido de que las expectativas de los estudiantes de primer año de ES varían significativamente según su nacionalidad y género.

This study aims to show the effects of nationality and gender of students on college expectations in its first year of higher education studies (ES). The sample consists of 759 students from various academic degrees from the Universities of Vigo, Campus of Ourense (Spain) and the University of Minho, Braga (Portugal). Participants were administered the Academic Perceptions Questionnaire (CPA) which assesses seven dimensions of expectations. The results obtained from 2x2 multivariate analysis [Nationality (2, Spanish, Portuguese) x gender (2; women and men)], show a significant interactive effect of both variables. The results are interpreted in the sense that the expectations of freshmen of ES vary significantly by nationality and gender.
