Aportación documental: “La Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la O" de Navas del Madroño (Cáceres)

Abstract

La Iglesia Parroquial de Nuestra Señora de la O (Navas del Madroño) fue construida durante el siglo XVIII. Hasta la fecha no había sido objeto de ninguna investigación. Ahora, motivada por el hallazgo documental que nos aporta nuevos datos sobre su proceso constructivo y por el deseo de dar a conocer el patrimonio religioso extremeño, adscrito a la estética barroca, se ha escrito el presente artículo. Destacamos la intervención de Theodosio Magallanes, arquitecto de nacionalidad portuguesa, que trabajó durante esta época en varias construcciones religiosas y civiles en el siglo XVIII en Extremadura.

The Parish Church of Our Lady of La O (Navas del Madroño) was built in the 18th century. To date it had not been the object of any research. Motivated now by documentary findings that contribute with new information on its construction process, and also because of an interest in the spread of the knowledge about the Extremaduran religious heritage, particularly the Baroque one, the present article has been written. We emphasize the intervention of the Portuguese architect Theodosio Magallanes, who participated in several religious and civil projects during this period in the 18th century In Extremadura.
