Propuesta de ruta turístico-cultural por los pueblos de colonización del valle del Alagón (Cáceres)

Abstract

A partir de la década de los años cincuenta, el Plan de Colonización de Cáceres propició en el Valle del Alagón importantes actuaciones. Obras hidráulicas, infraestructuras, carreteras y la construcción de doce nuevos pueblos, permitieron incorporar esta amplia zona a las explotaciones de regadío y mejorar las condiciones de habitabilidad en el medio agrario. Pese a su gran potencial, estos pueblos están sufriendo el agotamiento del modelo de colonización agrario primitivo y viven un momento de incertidumbre, a la espera de nuevos patrones de desarrollo que les ayuden a superar unos problemas comunes a los que sufre ahora el mundo rural en general. Con este artículo pretendemos poner de relieve la multiplicidad de valores de estos pueblos; reflexionar sobre su devenir y presentar, por último, una propuesta a modo de ruta turístico-cultural, que pueda servir como herramienta de dinamización y contribuir positivamente al desarrollo económico local.

The Colonization Plan for the Cáceres province from the 1950s contributed to a series of important actions in the Alagón Valley. Hydraulic works, infrastructures, roads and the construction of twelve colonization villages, all together allowed incorporating this big area into the development of irrigation lands and improving the living conditions in the agrarian space. Despite its great potential, these villages are suffering the depletion of the primitive agrarian settling model and now live a moment of uncertainty, waiting for the creation of new development patterns that help to overcome a set of common problems for the entire rural world. In this article we try to highlight the great variety of valuable features of these towns and to think about its evolution, finally presenting a proposal for a cultural tourist route that could serve as a dynamization tool, positively contributing to the local economic development.
