¿Adquieren nuestros alumnos competencias emocionales en el grado de magisterio?

Abstract

Buscando alcanzar unos objetivos educativos de mayor nivel, el sistema educativo actual persigue la formación integral del alumno, es decir, tanto a nivel cognitivo como social o emocional. En este estudio pretendemos establecer el nivel de Competencia Emocional en los alumnos de primer curso de magisterio de la UEx y los de cuarto, realizando la comparativa correspondiente. Para ello, hemos evaluado esta Competencia Emocional a través de distintos constructos medidos con diferentes escalas. Para evaluar la IE utilizamos el Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS-24) y para la Autoeficacia la escala de Del Pozo, M. “Variables Cognitivas y Participación Comunitaria”, la escala el Minfulness Inventario de Habilidades de Kentucky Mindfulness (KIMS; Baer, Smith, y Allen, 2004), del mismo modo que elegimos el Índice de Reactividad Interpersonal-Empatía (IRI) (Davis, M. H., 1980, 1983) para valorar la Empatía y la Escala de Satisfacción con la Vida (Satisfaction with life scale (SWLS); (Diener, Emmons, Larsen y Griffin, 1985; Adaptación española de Atienza, Pons, Balaguer y Garcia-Merita, 2000), para la Satisfacción con la Vida. Participaron 591 estudiantes universitarios de magisterio la mayoría entre 18 y 28 años de edad.

Seeking to achieve educational objectives of a higher level, the current education system pursues the integral formation of the student, that is, both at the cognitive and social or emotional level. In this study we aim to establish the level of emotional competence in freshmen and senior students of Uex teaching courses, making the corresponding comparative study. Thus, we have evaluated this emotional competence through different constructs measured with different scales. To assess the EI we used the Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS-24) and to test the Self-Efficacy, the Scale of Del Pozo, M. “Cognitive Variables and Community Participation”. Mindfulness by the Kentucky Inventory of Mindfulness Skills (KIMS; Baer Smith and Allen, 2004), just as we chose the Interpersonal- Empathy Reactivity Index (IRI) (Davis, MH, 1980, 1983) to assess the Empathy Scale and Life Satisfaction (Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) (Diener, Emmons, Larsen&Griffin, 1985; Spanish adaptation of Atienza, Pons, and Garcia-Merita Balaguer, 2000), for the Satisfaction with Life. In this study, 591 college students of teaching courses participated, the majority were between 18- and 28-years-old.
